First edition 1960 Mattel Chatty Cathy Doll, Outfit Accessories Open Hand

MATTEL, 1960
This Chatty Cathy is 20 inches tall, from 1960. She is in very good condition overall. Her voice box was garbled, but worked...until I pulled the string one too many times and it broke. I will include the ring that you pull.
The Good: Physically, she’s in very good-excellent condition. Her face is beautiful, the eyes close and open appropriately, her hair is a bit matted, but in good condition. The limbs are tight, she stands on her own and her body shows very little use. Included with Cathy are her headband, undershirt, panties, 3 piece play outfit with straight dress, separate top and additional skirt, white lace socks and red flats. The clothing is coordinated with the same pattern and shows little use. The pull ring will also be included.
Her chest is soft and she has one hand open.
The Bad: Her pleated and lace trim outfit, I believe, is handmade. The top of the outfit is sewn shut at the neck in the back (photo 5). In order to remove it, the stitches (only a couple) have to be cut. There are no other buttons or fasteners. The skirt ties at the waist. The undershirt is in good shape; however, the elastic of the panties has been stretched out, so they do not stay up.
There is a small mark on her right thumbnail. The shoes fit well but show use. One shoe is missing the pearl decoration. The bottom of the shoes have some discoloration.
As mentioned, her voice box was working, but garbled, before the string broke.
