Resorbable Membrane is used in oral surgery and periodontal surgery. The collagen membrane prevents epithelium, which is regenerated much more quickly than a bone material, to grow into an area in which it is undesired. Such method of preventing epithelial migration into a specific area is known as guided tissue regeneration (GTR), and it is known to be the best and the safest way in dental surgery.
Resorbable Membrane:
This membrane facilitates primary wound closure via fibroblast chemotactic properties, even after membrane exposure. Compared to ePTFE membranes, resorbable barriers allow for fewer exposures and therefore reduce the effects of infection on newly formed bone.
Use of the Resorbable Membranes, in particular with Bone Graft mineral as a support, has distinguished outstanding treatment outcomes.

Implantation of defects in the bone tissue.
Restoration of congenital and acquired defects of bone and soft tissues.
Sinus-lifting.
Cystectomy.

Resorbable Membrane Material:
Collagen is the main structural protein in the extracellular space in the various connective tissues in human and animal bodies.
As the main component of connective tissue, it is the most abundant protein in mammals, making up from 25% to 35% of the whole-body protein content. Depending upon the degree of mineralization, collagen tissues may be rigid (bone), compliant (tendon), or have a gradient from rigid to compliant (cartilage).
Collagen, in the form of elongated fibrils, is mostly found in fibrous tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and skin. It is also abundant in corneas, cartilage, bones, blood vessels, the gut, intervertebral discs and the dentin in teeth.
Resorbable Collagen is used in bone grafting as it has a triple helical structure, making it a very strong molecule. It is ideal for use in dentistry, as it does not compromise the structural integrity of the teeth and bones. The triple helical structure of collagen prevents it from being broken down by enzymes, it enables adhesiveness of cells and it is important for the proper assembly of the extracellular matrix.
Resorbable Membrane is made of bovine collagen from animal origin. It represents regenerated collagen of type II, which interfiber structure was reconstructed by cross-linking the polypeptide chains.
The membrane is biocompatible, promotes binding of factors of growth, platelets aggregation, osteoblasts and osteoclasts, which causes remodeling of bone tissue and stimulates the repair effect of the bone defect.
A suture pull-out strength of Resorbable Membrane is significantly higher due to its unique fibrillar matrix structure. The long resorption profile (8-16 weeks) suits for the healing time required in most GBR procedures.

Collagen scaffolds are used in dentistry for tissue regeneration. Collagen has the correct properties for tissue regeneration such as pore structure, permeability, hydrophilicity and it is stable in vivo. Collagen scaffolds are also ideal for the deposition of cells, such as osteoblasts and fibroblasts and once inserted, the growth of the cells is able to continue by their normal pace in the tissue.
Reconstructive Surgical Use:
