This is the adapter you have been looking for. A custom made, autoclavable angled adapter to use with your DryShield.
I am a dentist. The manufacturers adapter was too expensive to purchase a lot of them, and I wanted to steam sterilize the adapter and tubing after each patient. We use 40 DryShields a day, each used with this adapter and tubing.
The angled adapter is much better and lighter than the straight aluminum adapter that you will find on eBay ( which I also used to use before I designed these). The 90° bend will help the tubing lay better as it exits the DryShield and kink less without reducing the airflow. The adapter will cover the triangular alignment hole in the DryShield to make a full seal for maximum vacuum power.
The silicone tubing extension hose is key because many HVE hoses cannot reach up to the corner of the opposite side mouth without putting alot of tension on the (less flexible) HVE tubing, and pulling too hard on the patient's mouth. It also feels alot lighter weight in the patient's mouth if it is not hooked directly to the metal HVE valve.

One Angled DryShield adapter, custom made from an NSF certified Lead-Free polymer that is temperature rated to at least 180°F. I have not had any melting, cracking or deformation with hundreds of steam sterilization cycles at 135
°C
. This lightweight piece connects the DryShield to the silicone tubing. Color will be black or white, depending on which material I can get a hold of.
One silicone HVE tube, which can withstand temperatures of no less than 500°F (260°C). The tube is 4-5 feet long, and thick-walled to withstand the vacuum pressure.
Reusable custom HVE to silicone tubing adapters. This part is autoclavable up to 275
°F
(135°C)
.
